Adding a sloping gable

Let's start getting creative. Suppose our gable end wants to kind of slope forward. There's no reason why we can't do this. We don't always need to follow the footprint of our building now, do we? To get started in this video, we'll take a pre-built gable roof and make some edits to the footprint. This edit will have us creating a point that actually leaves the contours of the walls below. We will finish the sketch, take a look in 3D. Then we're going to open up a little more complicated of a roof system and repeat the procedure. So to get started, let's jump into our Revit Roofs-1 file. In the project browser, I'm going to go to my roof floor plan. I'm going to select my roof, and I'm going to click on the Edit Footprint button. I'm going to zoom in on the east edge of my building. On my Draw panel, I'm going to click my Line button. On my Options bar, I'm going to uncheck Define Slope. Now, I'm going to draw a line from the midpoint of this eaves. I want to come out 6' even. I'm…
