Adding a gable - Revit Tutorial
From the course: Building Roofs with Revit
Adding a gable
Because we're adding roofs line by line, we get specific control over the behavior of each edge. These edges and lines can contain a slope or not. We can also control the pitch of each line independent from the others. The objective of this video is to add a simple hip roof. We will then turn off the slope on one edge, creating a gable end. From there, we'll attach the wall to the roof, removing the gap that was created. Then we're going to open a more complex roof and see how we can add a gable end to an to an odd-shaped structure. So to get started, let's jump into our Revit roofs file or open up whatever file you have. In the Project Browser, I'm going to go to my roof floor plan. In my roof floor plan, I'm going to add a simple hip roof. I'm going to go to Architecture > Roof > Roof by Footprint. The overhang is 2'. I'm going to make sure I define slope. I'm going to hover over one of my walls. I'm going to hit my Tab key and select them. I'm going to hit Escape a couple times…
