Adding framing and spider fittings - Revit Tutorial
From the course: Building Curtain Walls with Revit
Adding framing and spider fittings
- Of course at some point in this course we were going to start talking about spider fittings. When we think of curtain walls, often we think of cool tubular framing holding up our glass panels with those little four fingered spider fittings. I always thought spider fittings had eight legs, but that's what we're calling them. This video has us finding a pre-defined spider fitting family. Then we will insert it into our model. We will then divide up a curtain panel and cut a couple sections. We will then stick the spider fitting to the four way intersections at the panel points. We will then add some framing to complete the structure. So to get started let's jump into our curtain walls project, and what I want to do first is divide up this curtain wall. So to do that I'm going to go to my north elevation. I'm going to go to my architecture tab. I'm going to go ahead and click on my curtain grid button. I'm going to zoom in here and I'm going to put it in about one foot from one side…
