Adding Howe trusses
You wouldn't think it, but trusses are actually easier than stick framing. This is because we can attach our trusses to our roof. There are tons of trusses to choose from in the Autodesk library, but I almost always stick to the Howe. Start simple and get awesome results. The objective of this video is to load a truss and some dimensional lumber. We will bring in a Howe truss and change it from wide flange to wood framing. Then we'll lay out the trusses in the plan. Lastly, we're going to attach our truss to the roof. The first thing I want to do is jump into our Revit roofs. Let's go to the Insert tab. Let's click on Load Family. In the US Imperial library, I'm going to scroll down to Structural Trusses. Notice that we have tons of different trusses to choose from, but I don't know what my roof's doing, so I'm going to grab a Howe Flat Truss, I'm going to click Open. Next thing I'm going to do is load some more families, so click on Load Family. Let's go down to Structural Framing…
