- So now we're in Maya and our goal…is to bring up some of these examples…that we looked up in the last movie,…and take a look at some of the challenges…of getting those different shadowing methods.…And we just want to kind of go through it.…So we want to do a simple scene,…so we can really see what's going on.…So we just have the red sphere on a…simple diffused ground plane.…So just take a refresher to look at what our goals are.…So here's what we're going to start off with…on the far left, and we want to take a look at…these different methods.…And then we want to add in an area lighting,…really get the combination of that beautiful shadowing…that we want to see in our reference images.…
So I've set up this scene, and it has an environment light…with an HDR plugged into it.…And this one is an unclipped HDR with a bright sun spot…right behind our glass.…And that's going to be providing all the lighting…until we add an area light.…And then we've dropped in an RMS glass shader,…and we've attached that to the sphere.…
