Join Richard Gill for an in-depth discussion in this video Knowing your selectors, part of Performing Complex State Management with Redux.
- [Instructor] Knowing your selectors.…In this video, I'm gonna cover…an additional concept of Redux, which is not always covered,…which is selectors and reselect.…So, for anybody that knows me,…and knows me as a programmer, I suppose,…maybe not my friends so much,…they'll know that this is a topic pretty close to my heart.…So I think, with Redux, the number one mistake…that I see programmers in the wild making with this library,…is not using selectors or a similar kind of concept.…I see a lot of programmers who get paid, you know,…quite good money to kind of go around to developing apps,…and they'll be developing Redux app after Redux app,…and they have not embraced this concept.…
So selectors' kind of a concept.…But it's also a library.…A library does not do a lot,…but we'll go through what it does do.…It's all made by the same guy that made Redux.…And, really, I think, sometimes it's a second class citizen…in a lot of projects, but, actually, I think it's critical…to doing things well.…And, really, it's a conceptual thing.…
