- [Instructor] There are many different versions of NFS in production. NFS version two is no longer supported in Enterprise Linux seven. Enterprise Linux seven supports NFS three, four and four point one and if using Enterprise Linux seven point four or newer supports NFS version four dot two. The first version that supported TCP transport when it was introduced, is NFS three. This should be considered the oldest practical version to use. NFS version three on Enterprise Linux seven supports safe asynchronous writes better error handling than NFS two an 64-bit file sizes, allowing access to more than two gigabytes of file data. NFS three can use either TCP or UDP transport protocols. NFS version four works better through firewalls and no longer requires the rpcbind, lockd or rpc dot statd services.
