Delayed mounting with autofs: RHCE Cert Prep: Network Filesystems using NFS and Samba

Automounting a network drive can be problematic. If the network is down when the client boots it may hang the boot process. There are several things we can do. The most effective is autofs. If you configure autofs to mount the NFS share it only does it when you access the share. This allows a client to boot up if the NFS share isn't available. It also saves a lot of memory if you have many shares.
