In order to take advantage of Talent Pipeline features and Smart Filter settings inside of recruiter, an Admin will need to enable these in the settings. These features can help you stay updated and organized with candidate activity and status.
- [Instructor] In this video, we'll take a look at how to activate our Talent Pipeline settings in our Recruiter account. In order to take full advantage of Talent Pipeline tracking, we need to make sure that the feature is activated. You can do this by navigating to the Admin Settings. So I'll go up to More at the top, Admin Settings. If you don't have access to the Admin Settings, you'll need to contact your Recruiter Admin in order to get this activated. From here, I'm going to go to the Features tab. And then at the bottom, I can see Talent Pipeline.
To the right of this, I can click Activate Talent Pipeline. And you'll notice here that there are several things that we can customize, including the sources that we found candidates from, the status of the candidates, tags, and more. And you do have the ability to edit these by clicking on the pencil icon or the link down below. Now, the settings that you want to have are going to be completely different for everyone. So my recommendation is to look over the settings and customize them in a way that works for you. In the bottom-right corner, there is a really helpful Activation Checklist that will guide you through this process.
Here I'll click on the Activation Checklist, and this will tell you more about the LinkedIn Talent Pipeline and show you the checklist on how to get ready for it. Now up at the top, I'm going to go ahead and select the tab again for my Admin Settings. And inside of this Talent Pipeline Activation, I'm going to click on Activate Talent Pipeline. I've now done that, and if I scroll down you'll see here that I can enable Smart Project Filters, which is something I highly recommend doing because this will give you a lot of information about your candidates.
It says here, are you sure you want to enable smart project filters? You can deactivate them by clicking on Disable Smart Project Filters button. So I'm going to confirm that I turned those on. And we'll see in a little while how that will impact us. So now that I've turned smart project filters on, I can go through and make some of these changes. For instance for Sources, when we track the sources of candidates to know where we found them, I can go in and adjust these if I want. So in other words, if we found them at a Conference, at College, from Email, Online Resources, Referrals, and more.
Now, say Staffing Agency isn't one that we'd use. I can X that out and it's not there now. So here I'll click off of Online Resources, Job Boards, Email, and others, and just keep the ones that I want to work with. Now, they also give suggested tags. And you can add your own tags, but they give tags regarding things like Accounting, Administrative, Architect, Board, Business Development, C-level, and more. So these are different tags that you can add to your candidates and be able to track them very easily.
I would suggest here that you do add some of your own tags so that you can easily track them. They'll appear on a drop-down list, and you can select them from there. I'm going to go like this, and I want to go to Status, because I really think Status is an important one. And on here, they have several different statuses. One is New, Contacted, and Replied. Those are actually required for the Talent Pipeline. But then you can have ones that are Not Contacted, Screened, Applied. So I'm going to go on here, and we're not going to use Screened, Applied, Do Not Contact, or Future Prospect.
Let's say I want to get rid of those. I can do that. And now that has been updated in my account. So I suggest that you turn on the Pipeline settings, enable your smart project filters, and then go ahead and edit those according to what works best for you.
