When you identify candidates that you may be interested in, you can save them to your clipboard inside of Recruiter. The clipboard allows you to further analyze candidates and take advantage of the Recruiter tools in order to narrow down your search.
- [Instructor] Now that we've taken a look at how to conduct searches, and create projects. I can start picking out candidates that I might want to contact. In many cases, I'll have a lot of contacts to sort through. So I'm going to want to use some organizational tools to keep them all sorted. Let's start by picking out some candidates that look promising. In order to get a list to start with, I'm going to use a search that I generated between videos. And I want to pick out some of these people that we want to take a closer look at. Now in order to do this, I'm going to click on the check box that appears off to the right side of their name.
The top account is mine, so I'm not going to click there. But I will click on some of these candidates. So I've selected four different candidates, and now I'm going to go up to the top, and we have several options. First, I can add them to a project, I can send them a message, I can ask for review, I can add them to the clipboard, and more. Now, ultimately, the goal will be to add people that I'm interested in to a project. But before I do that, let's take a look at how we can add them to the clipboard, and then use some of our recruiting tools, to narrow them down even more.
So I'm going to go ahead and click on the icon to add them to the clipboard. Now, once I do that, up at the top, you'll notice that the clipboard link now has a four next to it, meaning that I have four people on my clipboard. I'm going to go ahead and click on clipboard, and this brings up my clipboard, which I think of as a place where we can take a deeper look at people, and decide what we would lie to do with these candidates. Now, I could go in here, and select the candidates. Hit select all of them by clicking on the top checkbox.
And again, we can add them all to a project, we could send them mail, ask for review, we could remove them from the clipboard, and more. I don't want to do that right now though. Now next to candidates you have this blue button, and we can send them an in mail from right here. We can also click on the three dots icon, and decide if we want to save them to a project, remove from clipboard, add a note, share their profile, receive updates, or find more people like them. Now, in this case, I want to actually click on one of the candidates, and go into their account.
Because here inside of recruiter, when you click on a candidate in the clipboard, you'll be able to see some really powerful tools. First of all, you can see here that we have any recruiting activity. So this will tell us when they were viewed, if they received any communication from us, and whether or not they've replied, and so on. So it's a great way to collaborate with your team, as well as just keep yourself notified of what communication or recruiting activity that you've already done. Now on the top right, you can see these recruiting tools, and these are powerful.
The first one, allows me to receive any updates about this candidate. So if they change something inside of their profile, I will be updated about that. Next, we have the ability to add the to projects. If I click here, I can add them to a project that I want to consider them as a candidate for. Next we have tags. So if I want to add tags, such as something specific about them that they do, perhaps it's a job title, or a specific characteristic, or experience they have, I can leave notes.
And in this case, if I decided I want to remove them from the clipboard, and not have them in a project, I'd likely want to leave a note on there saying why. So that if I come across them again, I'd have that note and could refer back to it. Same thing, if it's a strong candidate, I may want to enter in a note here just to remind myself about why I thought that they were a strong candidate. Next to this, we can add an attachment, and we can also set reminders. So here we can set a reminder, say that we wanted to follow up with this person in a week, a month, or set even a specific date.
We can do that, and then type in here what it is that we'd like to follow up on. So the recruiting tools inside of an individual candidates account, can be a very powerful way to track them, and add some things to help you with the recruiting process. I would consider the clipboard to be the place where you save candidates that you think have potential, with the intention of looking at them more thoroughly. Once a candidate has been deemed a strong candidate that you'd like to contact regarding a position, you can add them to a project.
We'll take a look at adding candidates to projects in the next video.
