Once you have started to save candidates to projects, it is important to develop a system that allows you and your coworkers to stay updated and informed. The Recruiter platform does a wonderful job of organizing this information and giving you plenty of status updates and feedback regarding the process.
- [Instructor] In this video, we'll take a look at how to check the status of our candidates, as well as messages that we've sent to them. We'll also see the impact that activating our Talent Pipeline features and turning on our Smart Filters can have. So, right now, I'm on the Recruiter homepage and we want to take a look at how we can stay up-to-date with messages, candidates, projects, and more. So, on the homepage, you'll notice right away, in the center, that I have some updates. It's letting us know that we've received two new messages, one from Nicolette and one from Maggie. Now, I can also access these messages by going up to our inbox, which is the envelope icon up at the top.
I'm going to click here on this one. Inside of here, I can see these messages. So, right away, we have Nicolette's message. This is the one that I sent her regarding the graphic design position. And if I scroll down, we can see her response. She said "Hi, thanks for reaching out. "I'd like to learn more, please feel free "to contact me through LinkedIn to set something up." So, this is great, she is interested in the job. Now, off to the right, right here, we have access to our Recruiting Tools. So, in other words, I may want to add a tag, I may want to leave a note, I may want to add a reminder.
I'm going to leave a note saying "Interested in Graphic Design Position" and I'll save that. Then I want to set a reminder, and in here, I want to have that in one day to contact Nicolette regarding that position. So, from right here, we can add some important information right away rather than delegating it to later and then forgetting about it. Now, I'm going to go over to the left and I can see here Maggie's response.
So, the same message was sent to Maggie and, down below, she said "Thanks for reaching out. "I'm not currently interested, but let's keep in touch." So, here, we have some options. We may decide that we just want to get her out of this project, because we're trying to hire right now. However, if she's a candidate that we'd really like to hire in the future, she didn't say no, she said she may be interested, but let's keep in touch in the future. Here, I'm going to leave a note, say may be interested in graphic design position in the future.
I'll click Save and then I'm going to set a reminder letting me know, in one month, reach out regarding a graphic design position. So, your messages is a great place to check any replies that you've had and then take action immediately. Now, I'm going to go next to a saved search, so I want to go back to my Recruiter page. So, let's go here to a saved search and I'll select one of these and we can take a look at some information regarding candidates.
Now, if we scroll down here, we can see that some of the candidates have information down below. In other words, here, Cheryl has some shared connections. We can see any views that we've had and this can be very useful for you if it's a few days later and you can't remember who you viewed or messaged, or it can be useful for team members to see who on the team has taken action. So, if this is a candidate we're interested in, you can see here that we have sent out a message to her. I can click on it and read that message. Also, she's already been added to one project and you can see similar things down below underneath the people's accounts.
Now, one other thing we can do is we can click on individual accounts. So, here, if I click on Cheryl's account, you'll see here that we get information. It says, off to the right, that she has a project that we've added her to. Down below, we can see that she has views, messages, and, here, she has a message, but has not responded yet. And then projects as well. If I back up, I'm going to go to someone who we just recently added some notes to, so I'll go to, let's say, Nicolette's account.
Actually, I'm going to go here to Maggie's account. And, in Maggie's account, you'll see on the right that she is added to a project. She also has a note and this note saying she may be interested in a graphic design position. We have a reminder set up and we can see all of that over here as well with the Recruiting Activity. Now, anytime we want, we could also use the Recruiting Tools to click here, so that we stay updated on her status. We can add her to a project, we can add tags, notes, notifications, and more. So, from within here, we can see updates on our candidates, as well as add more information, so that we can notify ourselves down the road, as well as notify our teammates.
Now, one final place I want to look at, and it's an important one, is within a project. So, in a project, and I'm going to go to my Graphic Design project. Here's where we can find a ton of important information. So, here we have different things, such as the status of them, which, right now, needs to be manually set, and this is because we did not previously have our Talent Pipeline features turned on and we didn't have the Smart Filters turned on. So, in order to do this, I can click inside of a candidate, right here in Cheryl's account, and then update her status.
So, here, you'll see Status and I can selected Contacted, because we did send a contact. Now, I'm going to back up and you'll notice, over here, that now she has been listed as Contacted. The importance of having Smart Filters turned on is apparent when you see that once they are turned on this will automatically be generated here. As an example, I had a filter right here where I found myself and I'm going to add my profile to the Graphic Design project. So, here, I'll click on Save to Project.
We'll go in the Graphic Design project. And then I'll click on Add and now, if I go over here to this account, you'll notice that because I just added that, I'll refresh this screen, you'll see here that I appear and I automatically get this new status. Now, once we send a message, I will automatically be in the Contacted section and, once I reply, I'll automatically be in the Replied section.
But if you didn't have Smart Filters on or if you don't have access to them, you will have to do this manually. So, here, I'll click on Marcus and this is someone that we did send a message to, but have not heard back from him, so he is Contacted. Over here, we have Nicolette who already replied and it does say that here. We have Maggie who we sent one to and she has already replied, so we can change that here. And you can see that adding them manually is a great way to do it.
However, it's much more difficult than just having your Pipeline features turned on, because then it's automatically populated. Now, I'm going to go back here and there is more information that we can see inside of here and that includes the number of views that we've had and who's viewed the profile, the messages that have been sent, and we can click on them to read them. We can send InMail if we haven't done so yet and more. You can also click on the star on the left hand side to stay informed about any changes in that person's profile.
So, up here at the top, you'll now notice that once we get everyone placed into their correct status, we can organize them accordingly. If I'm under All, I'll be able to see all the candidates. However, here, I can click on ones that are new. So, in other words, Oliver here, we have not even sent out an InMail to and we could go ahead and do that. Up here, we have Contacted and it will show us people who have been contacted but have not replied. Then we can also see people who have replied. So, this is a great way to stay organized and I hope you see the importance of turning on your Talent Pipeline features, as well as Smart Filters, so that you don't have to do all of this manually.
