Using EQ (equalization): Learning Reason 10

EQ, or equalization, can be used to find the perfect tone for a snare drum, the most pleasing sound for a vocal, or to help a guitar solo cut through the mix. EQ is also important for ensuring that each musical element has a distinct place in the mix, so that these parts do not compete with each other or cause a concentration of too much energy in a particular frequency range in a mix (like the common problem of too much bass energy).
