Audio engineer and music producer Matt Piper explains how to set up recording preferences and audio monitoring for recording live instruments and vocals in Reason 9. Learn how to achieve the best possible workflow when recording, and then learn how to record a basic audio track.
- [Voiceover] Let's record some audio.…We're not gonna need to use the browser so I'm gonna…go ahead and hide that by clicking F3.…And now we just need to create an audio track.…So we can go to the Create menu…and choose Create Audio Track.…Or, since track starts with the letter T,…it's pretty easy to remember the keyboard shortcut…which is Cmd + T on a Mac and Ctrl + T on Windows.…So I'll just click Cmd + T and if I want to create…additional audio tracks I can just click Cmd + T…a couple more times.…
And you can see up in the rack three audio track devices…have been created and if I drag up the sequencer…you can see that there are three audio tracks…in the sequencer now.…And if I click F5 to show the mixer,…you can see that there are three audio tracks in the mixer.…And, by the way, looking at the rack,…just think of those audio tracks in the rack…as the input and output from the mixer.…That's really what that represents.…So, I'll click F7 to show the sequencer…and click on this first audio track and notice that there…
