Master your own recording: Learning Reason 9
Master your own recording: Learning Reason 9

Mastering is the final step in completing a finished music track. In Mastering, you can accomplish three things: Perfect the overall EQ of the track, make sure no digital distortion is created due to peaks in the audio exceeding 0 dB, and increase the perceived loudness of a track so that its volume level sounds consistent with other music recordings. Matt Piper, audio engineer and music producer, shows you how to master in Reason 9 in this online tutorial. Learn how to use the Master Bus Compressor, how to use a maximizer to increase loudness and limit peaks in the audio, and how to apply mastering EQ to your mix.
