Join Evan Sutton for an in-depth discussion in this video THE FINGER overview and control routing, part of REAKTOR: Advanced Instruments and Effects.
- One of my favorite REACTOR ensembles is called THE FINGER.…THE FINGER is a multi-effects unit…that you actually play with the MIDI keyboard.…It's sort of like an effects instrument.…It was developed by Tim Exile,…who is a really prolific electronic music artist,…who's well known for his live shows…that use a lot of live looping and effects manipulation.…He created THE FINGER for when he needed a ton of effects…that he could call up really, really quickly.…So to instantiate THE FINGER we're going to put it on…to our audio track.…I brought this track in, and I'm approaching this…as if we're using it to enable it to playing live to DJ…or play a live set,…even though, this works well as a production tool.…
So what I'm going to do is take Reaktor5 FX…and drag it on to my track that has my track.…And what we're going to need to do is load up THE FINGER.…Now, the reason why I grabbed Reaktor5 FX…is because it's set up to treat incoming audio.…If you just grab regular Reaktor…it's actually going to be looking for MIDI or OSC…
