Using targets

- [Narrator] This video, I wanted to talk a little bit about using targets when you're scanning. So, when you're out in the field capturing your scans, one option that you have available to you is you can place targets within the scene. Now, targets come in a few different varieties. I'll show you what a couple common ones look like. So the most common ones are these small globes that are on a magnetic base that you can place throughout the scene. Or you've got these flat checkerboard targets that you can either adhere to surfaces, or put them on stands, or really place them just about anywhere you like. And the idea is that we're looking for something that the scanner will recognize and will assist in the registration later on. Now, not every scan project requires targets. These days, the auto-registration features inside ReCap are so sophisticated that, most of the time, you can just go out and take your scans of the space, and as long as the space your scanning has got features…
