- [Instructor] Autodesk ReCap has now been split into two products, Autodesk ReCap and Autodesk ReCap Photo. Autodesk ReCap continues to use lidar and point clouds. For example, in the interface, we choose to pick New Projects. We have three types of projects we can start. We can import point cloud, transfer data from a mobile device, and click photo to 3D. Importing point clouds such as LAS files will allow us to create a model inside of ReCap. Transfer from mobile device allows us to use a mobile device such as a iPad using ReCap mobile, we can use a Leica BLK 360 to go into any room and gather data and point clouds from that room and upload it into ReCap. The third option here will launch ReCap Photo in a brand new window. Let's go to Import Point Cloud. We're going to be bringing in some point clouds from the city of Nanaimo, so I'm just going to call it nanaimo and we'll leave it in the Documents folder. We'll hit proceed.
