Capturing an abstract image of waves at dusk
- All right, what we've done here is switch to the 55 to 200, the long lens and I'm zoomed way out to the waves. The pink sky is reflecting into the water. What I'm doing is I'm picking up a wave and I'm following it and I'm actually shooting and moving and panning. Okay? I'm creating intentional camera movement; ICM. And as the wave's coming in I'm shooting and moving and I'm creating streaks and I'm getting that pink reflection off the water. And the water's got a nice blue. So I've got a pink blue contrast. It's a really fun technique. I found about 8/10 of a second is working really well so I've got F13 ISO 400 8/10s and I'm getting wonderful streaks. So I'm excited to look at those and share them with you in post processing but for now I got to put the wide angle back on and focus on this incredible scene. All right, back to the wide angle shot.
