Join Brad Wheeler for an in-depth discussion in this video What you should know, part of Build a Raspberry Pi Media Server.
- To get the most out of this course, you'll need a Raspberry Pi 1, 2, or 3 of any model hooked up to your entertainment system, your home network, and a USB keyboard. The Raspberry Pi zero won't work, because it doesn't include a network interface. To get the most out of your media center, I also recommend having a PC running Microsoft Windows 7 or later. Other operating systems will work for setup, but Windows has the most options for streaming. In terms of expertise, you'll need to be pretty comfortable with computer in general. I'll explain each command and setting as it comes up, but having some familiarity with networking and command line operations will be very helpful.
Note: These instructions work with the Raspberry Pi 1, 2, and 3 models. OSMC does not support Netflix, Hulu, or HBO Go.
