What are all these pins for?
- [Instructor] Modern Raspberry Pis have 40 GPIO pins arranged in two rows of 20, So how do you make sense of all these pins? They aren't labeled, they all look the same, and it's impossible to simply explore them with a volt meter to make any sense out of what they do. Let's take a look at the GPIO pins starting with a chart I've supplied in every Raspberry Pi course. You'll find a copy in the exercise files included with this course. The handout is called 02_02_GPIOpins. The graphic has four columns to the left of the picture and four to the right. The outermost columns on both sides are labeled Function, this explains what those pins are for. Many of the pins on the GPIO are simply power or ground I've identified all of these pins, they're useful for supplying voltages for circuits, testing, and other uses.
