Use a hard drive with the Raspberry Pi

- If you've been using laptops for any length of time, you have some SATA drives laying around. When a laptop fails, I pull the hard drive for posterity and recycle the case. One option for these orphaned hard drives is to put them in the bottom drawer of your desk until you eventually throw them away. Another option is to connect them to your Raspberry Pi. I've been using an SATA adapter with a Raspberry Pi for just that. Hi, I'm Mark Niemann-Ross and welcome to this week's edition of Raspberry Pi Weekly. Every week we explore the Raspberry Pi and share useful tips. You'll need some sort of an adapter to use an SATA drive with a Raspberry Pi. I'm using the Geekworm X828. It comes with all of the parts you need, although I would also add you'll need a power supply that isn't included. This power supply has a hard to find plug and must be five volts with four amps.
