High-grade audio for the Raspberry Pi

- The Raspberry Pi has reasonable audio capabilities, but it isn't great compared to other audio sources. However, adding an audio DAC HAT could dramatically improve the quality of sound from your Raspberry Pi. Hi, I'm Mark Niemann-Ross, and this is Raspberry Pi Weekly. This week, I'll show you the Amp2 audio HAT from HiFiBerry, and how it can be used for a high-grade audio system. If you are comfortable with electronics, you can assemble a circuit that reads audio directly from the Raspberry Pi. However, there are several companies that supply high-end audio HATs, or hardware attached on top. Let's take a look at the HiFiBerry Amp2. This HAT, hardware attached on top, provides a digital-to-analog converter, as well as a 60 watt amplifier. For this project, you'll need a HiFi Amp2, and two unpowered speakers, rated at four to eight ohms. You'll also need a 12 to 24 volt power supply. This can either be a center…
