- [Voiceover] The really great thing about shiny apps is that you can build interactive content without having to learn html or javascript which you can embed anywhere on the web. But you need to use a hosting platform and that's what shinyapps.io is. A hosting platform for shiny apps. If we have a look at the RStudio.com page on shinyapps.io pricing we can understand the service a little bit better. So there are a number of tiers available and that tiers are differentiated by the number of active hours that you get. And that's because while a shiny app is displayed in a web browser, there needs to be a service somewhere which is evaluating the R code in the shiny server application. There is a free tier available at the shinyapps.io service but it only entitles you to 25 active hours. It's important to note though, that there is a default time out period for your shiny apps so every visitor of your shiny app consumes a minimum of 15 minutes of your active hours unless you change that…
