- [Voiceover] RStudio is an IDE for R and does not include the R interpreter. It must be installed separately. You're advised, therefore, to install R first, and then RStudio. You don't need to install R before RStudio, but it's advised. So we're first going to go to Cran and download R and install onto our local machine, and then we're going to go to RStudio.com and download the IDE. Now, it's important to understand that the R language and RStudio need to be updated separately. The R language is updated on a fairly frequent basis. However, as with all programming languages, if there is a new version of the language, you should check for the libraries that you are most dependent on are compatible with that version of the language. RStudio is updated for the RStudio application. Updates are released on an almost annual basis, and they always pretty much include nice, new, front-end features.
