- [Narrator] Hi there. We are on a little detour from our main project here for chapter six, section one. So I can show you about using BRFSS weights in a descriptive analysis. Here, I teach you about three truths about using the BRFSS weights in an anlaysis. So this topic will be mostly philosophy, and a little code. Everyone who talks to me about BRFSS always starts by saying they need to understand the weights. How do you use the weights? Why do you use the weights? When do you use the weights? And the reality is, you hardly ever use the weights. That's what I'll explain philosophically. In the next section, I'll do a descriptive example, where we actually get to use the weights. So, I'm sorry to get heavy on you, but we have to talk about epidemiology now. In epidemiology, some people care more about populations, and some people care more about samples.
