- [Instructor] This section is to go over some of the BRFSS resources provided by the CDC to help researchers like us conduct a BRFSS analysis. First, there are the data sets that they publish. For example, in 2014 we can see the data files posted here. It's hard to understand the data without the questionnaire, so whenever yearly data are posted, the questionnaire is also posted. However, they are posted in a slightly different spot. There are a lot of handy resources the CDC makes for BRFSS analysts. Going back to the 2014 data files page, we can see the codebook posted. The code book provides univariate summary statistics about each variable. For example, we can see here that there 8,652 records from Alabama respondents in the data set. This codebook can be helpful if you are interested in designing an analysis of a particular subpopulation, such as the people from Alabama.
