Join Jess Stratton for an in-depth discussion in this video Adding service or inventory items, part of QuickBooks for Mac Essential Training.
Now it's time to start adding items, both service items and sale items.…A service item is one that's not a tangible…product, such as a service house call to fix something.…Or a haircut, or a dog grooming.…A sales item is a product, in our…case, customers can purchase bottles of olive oil.…So let's go in and start adding a sale item and a service item.…To do that you can either double-click…on Items and Services in the Company section,…or you can also come up here to List>Items.…
It's going to open up the item list and you'll notice that it…looks very similar to the chart of accounts, and like the chart…of accounts I'm going to click the green plus icon to open it…up in full screen so you can see it a little better.…Now I've already got a sales item in here, so let's add some more.…Now we do…that just like the charted accounts by going to…the bottom left and clicking the plus sign>New Item.…So the first thing that we need to decide, is this a sales item or a service item?…In this case we can leave it as a service item.…
