Moving and merging layers

- [Voiceover] So far we've seen the basics of creating layers in QuarkXPress. Now let's look at how to reorder layers and how to merge them. Here in the exercise file for this movie I have three layers, text, pictures, and default. If I want everything on the pictures layer to move above the text, I can drag that layer above the text layer in the Layers palette. Notice as I drag, a line appears where the layer will go if I release it. I can reverse the process by dragging the pictures layer back below the text layer. There's that line again. If I want to merge two or more layers, like pictures and default, I can do that by selecting them in the Layers palette. In this case I'll just Shift click on them. Or if they weren't next to each other in the stacking order, I could Command or Control click on them, and then click the Merge Layers button. I get a dialogue box asking which one of the layers I want to keep. I'll choose the default and click OK. Now all the pictures and the…
