Locking items

- [Voiceover] In this movie we're gonna take a look at how to prevent accidental changes to an item's Size, Position, or Content. And the way to do that is by Locking items. Here in the exercise file for this movie we have a Text Box and right now it's Unlocked as all items are by default. So I can click on it to select it. I can move it around the layout. I can edit the Text inside it and so on. Now if I want to prevent anyone from moving or re-sizing this item, I can select it and go to the Item menu and choose Lock Position. Now if I take the item tool and move my cursor over the Text Box, my cursor changes into a lock; and I can't drag to move this item. Also notice in the Measurements Palette, that the controls for X and Y and the width and height and angle and skew are all greyed out. So there's no way to re-Size or move this item, but if I double-click to switch to the Text tool I can select this Text and edit it. And all the controls for working with Text in the…
