While you can write an entire book or other long document directly in QuarkXPress, it’s much more likely that you’ll be importing text from other programs. In this tutorial Mike demonstrates how to import both plain text and formatted texy from Microsoft Word. Mike also shows how to deal with garbled characters imported from a text file by using a different encoding to fix the problem.
