Controlling opacity

- [Voiceover] Let's continue our look at working with colors in QuarkXPress by seeing how to control the opacity of items in our layouts. Opacity controls are found in the colors palette and in the measurements palette when you have an item, a picture or text selected. If you're following along, you'll need to re-import the picture files since the links will be broken when the exercise files were copied to your computer. So, to re-import the pictures select them with the pictures content tool, then press command or control e, and then navigate to the links folder, in the exercise files and choose Brie.jpeg and BrieWheel.jpeg. So, here I have this large picture box selected. I can see my opacity controls in the colors palette here, and down here in the measurements palette. And you can control the opacity for a box's color, its frame and its content all independently to achieve all different kinds of effects.
