Adding animation
- [Voiceover] One of the ways you can make digital publications more dynamic and engaging is to include animated items, let's see how to do that with QuarkXPress. Here in the exercise file, scroll down to the second page. And on the right side we have a text box with a partially transparent background over a full page photo. And if we're creating an EPUB or HTML5 publication, we can add some life to this page by animating these two items. What I have in mind is to make the transparent background slide in from the side, and then have the text fade in on top of the background. And to do that, we need to work in the HTML5 palette. So if you don't already have it open, choose HTML5 from the Window menu. Then, with the item tool, click on the partially transparent background to select it. Then select Animation, and click on the Effect pop-up, and here you can see all the different animation styles to choose from. We have things like Appear and Disappear, Fade In and Out, Zoom In and Out…
