- [Narrator] Qlik Sense lets you summarize data visually. So, the first thing you need to do is create a link to your data source by creating an app. In this movie, I will show you how to create an app by using an Excel file. But, the techniques you learn here will work for connections to other data sources as well. I've started Qlik. As you can see, I have a dialogue asking if I want to create a new app. I can also turn off this dialog at the start when I run the program. I'll go ahead and clear the Show this dialog at startup checkbox. And there are now two ways that I can create an app. The first, would be to stay within this dialog and click create a new app. Or I could close it by clicking the close button, and click create a new app within the hub. I'm here so, I'll go ahead and create a new app from within this dialog. Now, I need to type in the name of my app. And I will call it Kinet. K-I-N-E-T.
