- [Speaker] Pivot tables summarize data based on the arrangement you create. While the most common summary is to add all the values in a column together, it's not your only option. In this movie, I will show you how to change your pivot tables summary operation, as well as the data format. I have created a new app and it is based on the All Details Excel workbook, which you can find in the Exercise files folder. My pivot table currently has just a single field in the row area. And you can see that's ProductCategory. And then I am adding up the sum of all the orders for each of those categories. If I want to change the summary and the format of the data, I can, with the sheet displayed, click the edit button to display the editing view. My pivot table's already selected. If you didn't see that, for example, if you just see the sheet properties, then you can click the pivot table and start editing.
