Point layers

- [Narrator] Point layers can be used to show locations or assets that do not have an area or length. Often points such as valves, manholes, city locations can be seen on the map. They can be shown as simple points or advanced symbols such as a detailed fire hydrant symbol. Let's add fire hydrants to our current map. So open a new map or project and we're going to drag and drop the apprentices.shape file into our session. Click okay and we'll see apprentices meaning all the different components that make up the waterlines, including water hydrants. So the first thing we need to do is filter out only the water hydrants. So double click on the apprentices, pick on source, pick on query builder. We're going to filter the type, so I double click on type, click on equals and then we're just going to pick all to give all the different types that are available.
