- [Instructor] The good thing is much more than just a bunch of people, but in order to work together, we need to have a system. Sometimes this system will come on the expense of individuals. If you want to get some ice cream, ideally, you'll park your car right in the middle of the road next to the store entrance, go in, cut to be the first in line, pay, and get back home. However, you don't do that. You find an empty parking spot and park there, and you get to the back of the line. You do that since this is how we can function as a society. The same goes for software development. We need some structure in order to effectively work together. I've consulted in many companies. Each have their own process, and sometimes, teams inside the company will have a different process. What works for Google is probably an overkill for a small startup. Jared Spool said, "Too much process is just like no process, "except slower."…
