Join Bruce Van Horn for an in-depth discussion in this video Refactoring, part of Learning Python with PyCharm.
- [Instructor] In our last video,…we took care of a lot of errors and warnings…that appeared in this particular function,…this scrape page function.…When we concluded, we decided that there were…a few things still left that we needed to fix,…but there's nothing in there…that constitutes an error or a warning.…We can see there's a green check mark up in the top corner,…and if I hover over it,…I can see there's still a little problem there.…There's still a little green squiggly line there,…and it's telling me that there is a typographical error…somewhere in the file.…
And I can actually see it, it's right there on line 44.…It doesn't know what punc is.…In this case, it should be punctuation.…Technically this isn't a programming error,…but we could clean up our code by refactoring this.…Most IDEs today have some sort of refactoring tool…that allows you to change things in your code,…and that change will be propagated throughout all…of the files that it affects.…In this case, it's fairly local,…and it's just going to affect lines it looks like 44 and 45,…
