- [Instructor] Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kabana, also known as ELK, are a trio of tools that provide more advanced reporting and log monitoring. This is what we'll be setting up with our module, so we'll review a few core concepts of the stack. Chances are you've at least heard of the ELK Stack. It's becoming a pretty commonly used set of tools for operations monitoring. It's a set of tools that work well together to create a centralized logging solution for your entire infrastructure. We'll review how it works, and look at some of the config files. But don't feel like you need to perfectly understand everything. This isn't a course on ELK, so we'll be using pre-written config files for the ELK Stack when we get to writing the Puppet code. I think Logstash is a more logical place to start when looking to understand the ELK Stack. I suspect they call it ELK because the acronym LEK doesn't quite sound as nice.
