Learn how to set up and manage projects involving subcontractors in Microsoft Project.
- [Voiceover] Hi, I'm Bonnie Biafore. Welcome to Managing Projects that use Subcontractors. When you outsource work to subcontractors, you still have to make sure your project is running the way it should. Bottom line, you don't need to know every last detail of what subs are doing. We start by setting up resources for subcontractors who are paid by the hour, we'll create resources to represent a subcontractors team of interchangeable people. In addition, we'll look at how to use Microsoft Project cost resources for fixed-price contracts.
Next, we'll set up tasks for subcontractor work and assign their resources. Once work begins, it's time to monitor your subs' progress. We'll produce task lists for the subs you manage directly. We wrap up with reviewing subcontractor performance. I'll show you how to customize views and reports to analyze subs' performance in various ways. The techniques in the course apply to Project 2010, 2013, and 2016.
