Learn more advanced techniques for working with Microsoft Project 2010 and 2013, from reassigning resources and managing costs to customizing fields and reports.
- [Voiceover] Hi, Bonnie Biafore here. Welcome to Advanced Microsoft Project. I kick things off with some great shortcuts for quickly opening and saving your files, then we jump into the deep end with resource assignments. You'll see how to modify assignments, and get the results you want, whether you want duration, work, or resource allocation to stay the same. We'll look at ways to handle part time resources, edit in progress assignments, and more.
You'll also get up close and personal with project costs. We start by getting costs setup correctly. We'll look at how to update costs, and charge extra for overtime work. After that, you'll see how to examine your project schedule and cost performance with earned value analysis. I'll show you different ways to move data between Project and other programs, copying data between files, and importing and exporting data in different ways.
Next up, are several chapters on customizing Project. You'll customize fields, setting up formulas to calculate special values, reviewing status with graphical indicators, and making data entry easy with look up tables. You'll explore customizing visual reports, and graphical reports to communicate project information. We'll look at how to reuse your custom handiwork, or share it with others.
Finally, we'll explore working on multiple projects at the same time in Microsoft Project. You can use almost all of these techniques with Project 2010, 2013, and 2016, and off we go. Let's get started with Advanced Microsoft Project.
