- [Bonnie] Hi, I'm Bonnie Biafore. Project has several fields that show progress as a percentage. Let's explore the pros and cons of each one so you can use the right field for the job. Here I have a project and I'm looking at it using the Gantt Chart View with the summary table applied. We're going to start with the percent complete field. That's because you'll see this field in a lot of the tables in Microsoft Project out of the box. Percent complete is the actual duration divided by the scheduled duration. The problem is even though you see it everywhere, it's really the least meaningful measure because it only shows how much time has passed, not how much work has been done. For that reason, I'm going to add another field to this table. I'm going to right click a column heading and then choose insert column on the shortcut menu.
