- You have to connect a project file…to your resource pool before you can assign…shared resources to tasks.…When you do that, the resource pool…keeps track of all the resource assignments…across all the projects that share your resources.…That way you can see how your resources…are allocated on all those projects.…I have a couple of my project files…opened up in Project.…I also have the resource pool opened.…Let’s take a look at the Home Remodel project.…
When I go to the View tab and choose…Resource Sheet, there are no resources.…That’s because I haven’t connected…this project to the resource pool yet.…If I go over to the right side to the window section…I can click the down arrow to jump over…to my other project, New Garage.…I’m going to click Resource Sheet.…Same problem, no resources.…We haven’t connected either of these projects…to the resource pool.…
Well, let’s start with the new garage project.…You’re going to head to the Resource tab…and there’s a very likely button.…It says Resource Pool.…Click that, and then choose Share Resources.…
