Using the Timeline view (UPDATED)

- The Timeline is great for distilling information about a project. It also provides an easy way to adjust the dates you see in the Primary view, in Project, and in Project 2016, you can add more than one Timeline bar. If you don't see the Timeline view at the top of the window, go to the View tab, and in the Split View section, you want to turn on the Timeline checkbox. Here, I'm going to turn it off and the Timeline disappears, and when I turn the checkbox back on, it appears above the other view. In this case, the Timeline bar shows the project Start and Finish dates. This is great when you want to summarize the phases of the project. For example, let's say that I want to put all of my high-level summary tasks into this Timeline. I'm going to come down to the Gantt Chart view, and then on the View tab, click Outline.
