- [Instructor] When you enter actual values in Project, the program calculates actual cost for work and material resources. With cost resources, you need to tell Project about the actual costs. Let's start by applying the tracking table to this view. Right click the Select All cell at the top left corner of the table. On the shortcut menu, choose Tracking. I also want to see the task form. On the View tab, head to the Split View section and turn on the Details check box. Now let's start by looking at task three, Identify Physical Requirements. Down in the task form, I'm gonna right click and choose Resources and Predecessors because I want to see the resource, units, and work for this assignment. The Project Manager is assigned 160 hours of work. The Project Manager standard rate is $90 per hour so Project can calculate the actual cost because the task is complete, of $14,400.
