- [Bonnie] Hi, I'm Bonnie Biafore. If you link other files to your Project file, you can tell Project when you want to update those links. One Project option makes it easy to remember to update. So here I have a Project file and it turns out that this value in the Estimate column for the project summary task, is linked to an estimate spreadsheet that I have. So I've got the value of $500,000 right now. But we're going to head over to the File tab and click Options. Choose the Advanced category and scroll down so you can see the Edit section. There's a checkbox here "Ask to Update Automatic Links." It's turned on by default and that's usually what you want. Because this is going to prompt you to see whether you want to update those links. If you turn this checkbox off, then Project is going to update the links without asking you. I like to keep it turned on because if you have a lot of data, it could take a while to update…
