- [Instructor] In this section we're covering engineering for performance. The challenge for a program manager is performance is the ultimate unbounded problem. So it's up to you as a program manager to bound that problem by determining what is acceptable performance. How do you measure that performance? And how much can you spend? Spending manifests itself in two manners. First is how much project money can you spend and second is how much systems money can you spend in terms of the hardware to run your solution. And let's always keep in mind what happens after the release. After your system goes out into the world things change. Network traffic increases, server traffic increases, number of users increase. Size of the data increases. So it's always important to keep in mind what happens after the release and things change. This will help you bound your problem.
