- [Narrator] It's easier to work on resources when you can find them quickly. Sorting them by type and then putting them in alphabetical order is one way to do that. Project also has an option that helps prevent creating duplicate resources. In this case, the resource list is not grouped by type and it's not in alphabetical order. We can correct that by sorting the list. On the view tab, I'm going to click the sort button in the data section, and then choose Sort By on the drop down list. That opens up the Sort dialog box. What we want to do is we want to sort by type first. Because the field name is so short I just type it into the box. Then I can go over and I want to select the descending option. That way it will sort with work resources first followed by material and cost. In the Then by box, we want to sort by name. Again, I can just type that in, and in this case I want ascending order. The other thing is we want to keep this check box permanently renumber resources turned on…
