- [Bonnie] Hi, Bonnie Biafore here. Suppose you track actual project costs in an accounting program. If you do, you probably want to fill in actual costs instead of Project calculating them. Here's what you do. We're going to head over to the File tab and on the left side, click Options. In the Project Options dialog box, you want to select the Schedule category. And then you have to scroll down to the bottom and find the section calculation options for this project. There's the checkbox, actual costs are always calculated by Project and it's turned on by default. So we're going to turn that off so that Project won't calculate the actual costs and that means that we can fill them in. There's another checkbox. Edits to total actual cost will be spread to the status date. If you're going to add time-phased actual costs, then you want to keep this checkbox turned off.
