- [Bonnie] Hi, Bonnie Biafore here. In this tip, I'll show you how to designate an assignment owner to make sure that status is reported, particularly for assignments using inanimate resources, like equipment or materials. Now, keep in mind, Project Online and Project Server offer an assignment owner feature, but if you just have standalone Project, you can create your own. Well, let's start by using the Contact field if you want to have an owner for tasks. I'm gonna start by pointing at the vertical divider between the table and the timescale. When I see the two-headed arrow, I can drag to the right so I can see more of the table. To insert the Contact field, I'm gonna click the Add New Column heading. I'll start typing the name of the field, and when I see Contact in the list, click it to add that column.
