Join Bonnie Biafore for an in-depth discussion in this video Defining part-time resources using resource calendars, part of Advanced Microsoft Project.
- If part-time people work specific times,…like 8 to 12 every workday, changing the…resource calendars is the best way…to handle part-time schedules.…With the resource calendar, Project schedules…their assignments at the correct times,…which mean successor tasks are scheduled…at the right times, too.…We'll use the same indoor waterfall we added…in another movie.…Let's head to the resource sheet.…I click the bottom half of the Gantt Chart button…on the Task tab and then choose Resource Sheet.…
When I scroll to the bottom of the resource sheet,…we already have the Waterfall contractor…on the project, but the maximum units…are set to 50%.…To use a calendar, we're gonna change…maximum units to 100%.…That way, the resource will be dedicated…to the project during their working hours.…Now we're gonna set up a calendar…for this part-time schedule.…I'm gonna head to the Project tab…and click Change Working Time.…
I'm gonna create a new calendar.…That way, it'll be available to assign…to anyone who works this same schedule.…
